The Russian River Firefighters’ Association was formed on May 11, 1979 for the purpose of uniting the members of the Russian River Fire Protection District in order to promote harmony and good fellowship among the members of the district, provide an effective voice for association members, further the safety and welfare of its members, and support and assist the Russian River Fire Protection District in any way possible.

The Association Today

The Russian River Firefighters’ Association consists of both paid and volunteer members of the Russian River Fire Protection District who volunteer their time to raise money and participate in community events.  Funding for the Association comes from  T-shirt sales, the annual Stumptown Daze BBQ, private donations, and providing EMT standby service for various community events such as the Jazz and Blues Festival and the Stumptown Beer Revival.

The Russian River Firefighters’ Association uses these funds to assist the District in the purchase of equipment such as a thermal imaging camera, vehicle extrication tools, radios, and rope rescue equipment. The Association also donates to various community organizations and causes such as the Russian River Rotary, Russian River Rodeo, El Molino Little League, Pole Mountain Lookout, and the annual Stumptown Daze Parade.
